Delete your account and data
You can delete your tenStampd account from inside the app, without asking anyone. It is a real deletion, not a deactivation: your sign-in is removed and cannot be recovered, and neither can what went with it. There is no undo.
Deleting from inside the app
- Open tenStampd and sign in.
- Go to the last tab — You if you collect stamps, Admin if you run a shop or work at one.
- Open Settings, using the gear in the top corner.
- Scroll to Danger zone and choose the delete option shown there. It names your account type: closing your wallet, closing the shop account, or closing your employee account.
- Enter your password when asked. This confirms it is you, and nothing is deleted until you do.
Deletion runs immediately. Your sign-in is removed last, so if it is interrupted you can sign in again and repeat it.
If you cannot get into the app
If you have lost access to your account and cannot sign in to delete it yourself, email privacy@delteqis.com from the address the account uses. We will confirm the request with you and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
What goes depends on which kind of account you hold, because the three keep different things.
If you collect stamps
- Your sign-in and your profile — name, email address, phone number, birthday, your picture and your member number
- Every stamp card you hold, at every shop, and any points balances
- Any reward you had earned and not yet collected
- Every offer and message sent to you
- The notification registrations for your phones
If you run a shop
- Your sign-in, your profile and your picture
- Every shop on the account, its branches, staff records, roster, shifts and shift swaps
- Every card your shop issued and every stamp, points balance, offer, sent message, piece of feedback and unclaimed reward filed against it
- Your shop’s logo and its staff photos
Your customers keep their accounts. The cards they held at your shop are removed along with the programme those cards belonged to.
If you work at a shop
- Your sign-in, your profile and your picture
- Your staff record — the live roster entry — and the link joining you to the shop
- The join request that published your name and number to the shop
- The notification registrations for your phones
What is kept, and why
Two things outlive a deletion. Both are deliberate, and we would rather say so here than let you find out afterwards.
| What | Whose account | Why it stays |
|---|---|---|
| Stamps you were given, and feedback you left | Customers | These are the shop’s own trading records — what was rung up at a counter on a given day. Deleting them would silently change a shop’s past takings and the staffing decisions made from them. Your name is removed and your account id is replaced with a token that resolves to nobody and never will. What remains is a count of what happened, with nothing in it that points back to you. |
| Hours you clocked | Employees | A shift record is an employment record — it is what pay is worked out from, and what an employer is required to keep. It keeps your name on it, so that a shop can still answer what it owes somebody who has left. Your planned shifts stay on the roster too, so the owner can see there is a gap to fill. These records are kept for three years, the minimum the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, 1997 requires for time and pay records. |
Nothing else survives. Backups made before your deletion are overwritten on their normal cycle and are not used to restore deleted accounts.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription
If you pay for tenStampd as a shop, your subscription was bought through the App Store or Google Play and only they can cancel it. Deleting your account here does not stop the billing. Cancel the subscription in your Apple or Google account settings first, then delete the account.
Deleting some things without closing your account
If you only want shops to stop seeing your details, you do not have to leave. In Settings, turning off Share contact details erases your email address, phone number and birthday from every card you hold, at every shop, straight away. Your name stays, because staff have to be able to greet you. You can also remove your picture from your profile at any time.
